SMS Terms and Conditions
TripTrigger travel-incident alerts · Effective September 16, 2026
These terms govern the text messages sent by TripTrigger, LLC (“TripTrigger,” “we,” “us”), a California limited liability company, through the TripTrigger travel-incident alert program.
About this program
TripTrigger is a travel-incident coordination app. When a traveler reports an incident — for example a medical emergency while abroad — the app sends a text message to the people that traveler designated in advance, so the right people find out immediately instead of by chance.
These are transactional safety alerts, not marketing. This program never sends promotional, advertising, or solicitation messages of any kind.
Who receives messages, and how consent is obtained
Recipients do not sign themselves up on a public website. Every recipient is added inside the app, in advance, by a logged-in TripTrigger account holder — a real person with an existing relationship to them, such as a traveler adding their own spouse or parent as an emergency contact.
At the moment a contact is added, the account holder must confirm the following on screen:
A person added as an emergency contact then receives a one-time notice immediately, before any incident alert is ever sent, telling them who added them and how to opt out. This is deliberate: no one’s first message from TripTrigger should be an alarming emergency text out of nowhere. That notice reads:
Anyone who does not wish to participate can reply STOP to that first message and will receive nothing further.
What kinds of messages we send
- Designation notice — the one-time message above, sent when someone is first added as an emergency contact.
- Incident alerts — sent to a traveler’s emergency contacts and trip companions when an incident is reported, with a link to the incident details.
- Incident resolved notices — sent to those same people when the incident is marked resolved.
- Trip access links — a private link a traveler can use to view their own trip information and report an incident.
- Task notices — sent when someone is asked to handle a specific task during an active incident, such as picking up a prescription.
A representative incident alert reads:
Message frequency
Message frequency varies and is low by design. Most recipients receive only a single designation notice and then nothing at all unless an incident actually occurs. Messages are sent in response to real trip events, not on a recurring schedule.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. TripTrigger does not charge for these messages, but your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data rates apply to messages you send and receive.
How to opt out
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from this program. You will receive one confirmation message, and no further messages after that.
Because these are safety alerts, opting out means you will not be notified if an incident is reported for the traveler who listed you. If you opt out and later want to receive alerts again, ask the account holder who added you to re-add you, or contact us at the address below.
How to get help
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or email us at hello@triptrigger.travel. We respond to support requests at that address.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your carrier and is not guaranteed. This program is supported by major U.S. carriers.
Privacy
Phone numbers collected for this program are used only to deliver the messages described above. We do not sell them, and we do not share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
